PlayStation 2 Games
Legend of Legaia for PlayStation 2
Your initial party consists of three characters: Vahn, Noa, and Gala - two males and one female. You engage yourself on a quest of freeing your planet from a mysterious mist which is floating above the planet and which can turn anything it touches into a dreadful monster. In order to clean the planet from the horrible mist, you have to find so-called Genesis Trees which are scattered around on the planet. The combat system, which is probably the most original part of this game, isn't quite similar to the well-known menu-based Final Fantasy style. If you are familiar with the combat system of "Xenogears", it's more similar to this one, but more complicated. Your choices aren't just attack, defend or use special abilities: the attack option itself has many choices: high-attack, low-attack, kick etc., a bit like in "Revenant". Apart from this system, the game is a typical Asian console 3D RPG with manga characters, map-exploring, etc.

Monster Rancher 3 for PlayStation 2
Get ready to take off on a journey around the world, along with dozens of wacky monsters as companions. Breed and train your group of beasts, then pit the little fellers against other monsters on opposing teams. MONSTER RANCHER 3 certainly isn't the first game to use this story as its premise, but it might just be the most original: The monsters are created from your CDs and DVDs! Yep, just throw your favorite movie into the PS2, and then watch as it uses the data to create a wholly original battling creature based on the film's ones and zeros. Another crazy element is the fact that you can equip your beats with weapons and decorative items (sombreros, funny masks, etc.), which makes for some pretty hilarious battles. There are five locales in which you can evolve your monsters, but each of the places must be discovered through exploration of the massive expanses of the game's territory.

Raiden 3 for PlayStation 2
Raiden III for PlayStation 2 is a port of the classic arcade shooter, complete with a stage select mode that lets you replay stages once you've cleared them. The series has transitioned from its 2D roots to 3D, creating lush environments, devastating explosions and countless enemies, without a drop in frame-rate. Two players can play together to push back the invading forces, just like in the arcade! There is also a new 'multiplayer' mode that lets one player control two ships. Several new modes within this title can be unlocked, including Boss Rush (which lets you battle against bosses you have conquered) and Score Attack Mode (replay levels to obtain the highest score). Also included is a Replay mode, so you can analyze your play as well as that of the bosses, and a gallery mode, which holds images, easter eggs, etc. when it is unlocked.

PlayStation 1 Games
Asteroids for PlayStation 1
This is an excellent example of retro gaming done right. By taking the old vector graphics-based classic Asteroids and revamping it with fully polygonal 3D graphics, Activision has pulled off a faithful, yet fresh, translation of the original shooter. Any of you who remember playing this classic game will find much to enjoy here. Wisely enough, developer Syrox didn't stray too far from the original concept. In Asteroids, you still rotate your ship with the goal of obliterating every last piece of space debris from the screen while trying to avoid an ugly death-by-collision. In this modern update, you still have thrusters and the ability to warp out of harm's way. Added to the basic concept is the introduction of power-ups. A large variety of weapons is available for the taking, including homing missiles, plasma swords, plasma drills, shield energy, etc. These power-ups randomly float by, giving you the opportunity to fly after them or simply wait until they drift by you.

Earth 2150 for Windows
Earth 2150 is the sequel to Earth 2140 the use of nuclear weapons have pushed the earth out of its normal circulation around the sun. Earth is coming closer and closer to the sun. The whole climate changes. The three "states" left on earth (and moon) try to conquer the areas on earth, which contain the resources necessary to build a huge spaceship to escape from earth. The game has quite good 3D engine with realistic weather effects like fog, rain, thunderstorms etc. It features a huge amount of units; some can "dig" tunnels through mountains so that your units can drive through it. The physics engine is nice, too: if there is a crater somewhere and it starts to rain, the crater slowly fills with water.... When the sun goes down and it gets dark, all units and buildings have lights on them, which are really necessary.

Ready 2 Rumble Boxing for Nintendo 64
More of a tournament fighter than a boxing sim, Midway's pugilistic Pak bars no punches. From the moment Ready 2 Rumble Boxing's raucous theme song kicks in, it's clear that Midway has decided to take a light-hearted approach to the sweet science. Unlike EA Sports' Knockout Kings 2000, which offers real boxers in simulation-style action, Ready 2 Rumble features flashy fighters with in-your-face attitudes and pure arcade-style gameplay. Midway forked over big-time greenbacks just to use the words Ready 2 Rumble, and they even included an animated Michael Buffer, the Voice of Champions, to belt out his famous "LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE®!" battle cry before every match (and we thought Mike was just being paranoid when he trademarked his nickname).
